I am so sorry. There is a solution but it is not easy to do even for advanced user. By default, I think Mandrake 9.2 not shipped with kernel which can handle SATA stuff. So, you can just wait for next version of Mandrake come out with kernel which can handle SATA stuff. Or if you have sense of adventure, you can try this solution. This case works in Slackware. I don't know in Mandrake case. First, you have to compile the new kernel in another machine and you have to make your kernel have the stuff that can handle SATA stuff. Then replace the kernel in Mandrake cd with your own kernel. Burn the cd. Then, voila, some people with this way can install Linux in SATA harddisk. If you think this is too complicated, you can ask somebody ( maybe in this forum ) to compile the kernel so that can support SATA stuff. That's all.
