Can't get network running on Debian 3.0r2

Well, the installation process went fine, until I needed to install the network. I have an onboard Intel Pro/100 VE ethernet, and when I tried to install the eepro100 driver (or any driver for that matter) I got a Resource is Busy error or something along those lines. Unfortunetly, I don't have a floppy drive, so is there anything I might be able to do to fix this? Thanks.

If there isn't a way around this, could someone suggest a good alternative?
