I've installed Mandrake 7.2 and it's not listing my cable modem. It's an RCA ran through the USB port (and it's trying to install it via ethernet I think) How do I go about changing this??? Another thing, once I do get the modem set up, is there a walk through to enable internet sharing? if so, where would I find it. But I guess I really don't need it until I can get his dang modem problem solved..

NEW to Linux also, so maybe it's all operator error...

I don't know that much about Cable modems but I am not sure if the appropriate USB support is enabled in the kernel. I think there is a cable modem How-To at http://www.linuxdocs.org, so try there first.
