How to Create ISO Files From Discs on Windows, Mac, and Linux

I've used this one, I liked it many years ago.

How to Make ISO File from CD, DVD, or Blu-ray Disc?
has a link for linux too?
http://www.poweriso.com/download.php

if you are going to play with Windows repairing it and such use windows. someone else in here decides to use Linux apps to try and repair there windows partitions and screwed everything up.

I'd still go to a torrent sight and look for a usable windows OS. They are already isos you can burn to a dvd, some even might be able to be put onto a USB Stick and installed. my windows 10 I have on a USB Stick . ( I do not use windows anymore I only keep it around for iTunes that I rarely use as well. But it is there when I do need it.)

getting back into your windows to fix you oops on boot drive, you might be able to go through Windows repair mode command line. way back when windows xx I screwed around with the configs and put my (user home) Documents on a separate hdd via there ini file, or whatever they called them.

Chainging the boot drive letter.

is this still avable to you?
Code:
 Restart your computer.
Start tapping F8 repeatedly before the Windows XP logo
appears, but after the BIOS screen (the screen with your
manufacturer logo and/or system information)

When the boot options list screen appears, choose “Last
Known Good Configuration (Advanced)”
Press Enter.
it saved my arse a few times in the past.

Oh I just found this,
installing windows xp from usb
Code:
Step1: Create Rescue USB Drive

Run PowerISO rescue media utility. ...
Insert the USB drive you intend to boot from.
The utility will allow you choose Windows PE architecture and version. ...
Select USB drive for output device, and select the correct drive from the list. ...
The utility will start creating rescue USB drive.
the link for powerISO is the 2nd nd 3rd link on this post.

If you are trying to install a newer version of windows from Ubuntu with Grub2, you can do that by booting Ubuntu and then putting the windows DVD in the drive so that you can access it. The link below explains how to boot windows installer from Grub2 on a flash drive but it also works using a separate ntfs partition on your hard drive. It needs to be marked as active, be ntfs and you should be able to boot from your Ubuntu Grub menu. All this is explained in detail at the link below. I used this to create a bootable windows installer on usb as well as boot a windows installer from a partition on my hard drive.

It's a multi-step process and time consuming but since your post is two weeks old, I assume time is not a factor?
