Boot an MS-DOS image from grub2


Hi, I think this should be interesting

I know how to load disc images on grub2
but.. when I load msdos iso (a bootable cd image) i dont know to continue :C

seems grub2 have different syntaxis than grub

maybe grub2 isnt capable to boot msdos? :?

maybe msdos cannot handle those partitions.

I assume this is what you need.

I think I'd be tempted to chain to some other loader or older grub or maybe grub4dos.

For booting DOS you can use the MEMDISK module from Syslinux, just use it as kernel and your image as initrd, should work fine. I have never tried it with DOS-CDs, only with floppy images, so no guarantee that it will work, but at least worth a try.
