Books

Hello, I've been using and relying on linux for some time. I have even tried distributions like Arch. I was wondering what would be a good book for learning the inner workings of linux, how to write shell scripts, compile my own kernel, how to build my own distribution, things like that. I also would like to know if there is a good book for linux networking works. I want to be able to modify distributions specifically for my hardware, and have a better home net work set up.

I'm a fan of the o'reilly books. The nutshell books are great for a reference and the basic books are good for learning in a direct manner.
