Blinking Cursor on tty "Invisible"?

I am having a bunch of trouble right now. I'm trying to install Gentoo on a laptop, but the cursor on the tty doesn't show up. I'm using the intelfb framebuffer driver.

I'm typing this in Elinks, and having a bad time trying to find out where I'm typing.

I'm compiling my own kernel, if that helps at all.

In my menu.lst, I have the following parameter given to the kernel at boot:
Code:
video=intelfb:mode=1024x768-32@60,accel,hwcursor
The annoying thingh is tht if I spell on word wrong, lik ths, the rest of th wrds n the sentnce get msed up as well.

That code you posted... I get the 1024x768 part, but is the rest of it for 32 bit color @ 60 Hz ??

*IF* it is, try changing it to something like 800x600-16*60 and remove the accel.

Speculation, but I don't think the intelfb will handle those specs, and 32 bit on windows is actually 24 on linux.
Hope it helps you, let us know

Thanks, turning off the hwcursor and accel options worked.
