Blank Display After Booting From Live CD

(Sorry for posting this again, but i need help) Boot up comp. F12 --> BIOS. Boot from USB or optical drive. Then get the loading screen, load everything fine, then nothing. Screen turns black. I'm using Knoppix and MEPIS which I burned using Alcohol 120. I have 2 gig ram , 2.8 ghz pentium
dvd ,dvd + rw drives , nvidia geforce 7300. I haven't tried anything nor do i know what to try. I used Linux a little while back on my old computer, but i haven't started using on my new computer. I appreciate your help. Thank you. (P.S. If you know something better than Knoppix or MEPIS, let me know)

Try to boot Knoppix in console mode (option knoppix 2). If it will boot start graphics with startx command, and look for errors in logfile.
