best for my pc?


pls sugeest me best distro for my pc?
1gb celeron
256 sdram
geforce mx 440
sound onboard
ethernet 10/100

i want a distro, works fast as win98 on this pc...

I suggest Slackware 10.1 - but then again, I am a bit biased. Less overhead than Suse or Mandrake, for example, but a bit more configuration for the user.

So there are tradeoffs, which it is then really up to you to decide. You should be fine whatever you choose.

If you don't like one, choose another!
That is real choice.

All distros are basically the same. With a one gighz system, any distro will run fine. It's up-to-you to decide on what to run. I also prefer Slackware even though I am also running Debian.

Knoppix or Gentoo even Ubuntu and Kubuntu are good.
