Automount: cannot see mount-point

I have set automount to mount /dev/sda1 (USB mass-storage device) to /media/usb1, and it works, but usb1 is not visible in /media until it is accessed, which makes it invisible in Konqueror when the usb device is initially inserted. Is there any way, still using automount, to make the mount points visible all the time (or when the device is inserted)?

create a softlink to the path where it is mounted. the link is permanent and always visible.

Usually a soft link disappears upon re-boot with udev. Have you tried to create the directory when it is not turned on:

mkdir /media/usb1
