Auto mounting NTFS drive on bootup

Hi I have redhat linux 7.3, and i recently downloaded an NTFS driver(linux-ntfs project) to access my windows parition. When i try to mount the hard drive as root I type in the following

/sbin/modprobe ntfs
cat /proc/filesystems
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows -t ntfs -r

Ive noticed that if I dont type in /sbin/modprobe ntfs then the ntfs parition wont be found.

So I want the parition to mount automatically on boot-up, and the website tells me to include this line in my /etc/fstab

/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows ntfs ro 0 0

However this line causes an [FAILURE] during bootup. So I think its because the line
/sbin/modprobe ntfs is supposed to be executed before it. Am I right? and If so where do I put it? It seems the syntax of commands in fstab are different than the the syntax in a terminal, so im a bit hesitant to put this line in there. Can you please point me in the right direction.

Martin

"Can you please point me in the right direction."

You can add your own boot scripts to /etc/rc.local. /etc/rc.local is run after all of the other boot scripts have been run so it will be run after /etc/fstab is processed. So take the ntfs line out of /etc/fstab and put the following lines in /etc/rc.local:

/sbin/modprobe ntfs
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/windows -t ntfs -r

Thank you! I was wondering if you could do it that way. Everything seems to be running fine.
