argh

Well I've made sure my rpm's for gcc gawk and mawk as well as binutils cpp and others are loaded correctly
so now when i try to do a ./configure on this i get the following error

[peter@linuxbox apple2-emul-0.7.4d]$ ./configure
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for mawk... mawk
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... yes
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for C compiler default output... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
[peter@linuxbox apple2-emul-0.7.4d]$

I've also tried this as root with the same results
can anyone point me into the right direction
thanks
Pete

you've probably not got the glibc-devel package installed. that's if you're on and rpm based distribution
