Are there instructions on compiling my own kernel anywhere?

I have just installed elive on my system and ABSOLUTLY love it.

Super cool eye candy and very low on system resources.

I would like to try and compile my own kernel but have never done this so I need some step by step instructions. Anyone know where I can get these?

Many thanks.

www.kernel.org

Actually, Gentoo has a really good Wiki guide for it which should relate to you ok apart from any references to different types of kernel - you'll be compiling from a vanilla build:

Perfect,

Thanks mate.

I actually want to try and compile a low latency kernel for audio.
