Arch to Centos

So I played with under-volting my processor which meant that I had to make modifications to the Kernel and well low and behold new kernel last night meant it was un-bootable this morning. I can hang with that and might fix it but I was pondering install cent on my old mans computer and because he's in the states and I'm here I was thinking long term stable until he gets some Linux chops. I booted up 7 and it's a no-go so I'll stay with 6.5 and it's Gnome 2. It will do do things it'll help me facebook trouble shoot and give me less of an itch to play. (I hope) What are people thoughts on Cent on and portable and cent for a new guy?

If you're playing with MSRs (risky) in a bootup script, add a get-out clause with e.g.:

Code:
grep -qw nomsr /proc/cmdline && exit 0
Because it should be easy to add "nomsr", when you need to, to the bootloader's commandline.
