What are the differences between apt-get, magic, and engage? and how do you use them?

I can't answer for magic and engage, but apt-get is part of the apt package manager.

It uses a list of repositories to allow you to install new programs on your box or keep you up to date.

It was developed by Debian and has since been adapted for use with rpms under Redhat-based distros.

The basic use is: # apt-get install programname

It can also be used with a GUI named synaptic.

I'm sure somebody will fill you in on the other two....
