I was wondering how to activate the auto power off in Linux? the APM is already compiled in my kernel, when I boot into Linux it says "apm bios not found".
I tried looking into my bios but i cannot find anything about APM...
any help will greatly be appreciated...
thnx in advance....
Make sure power-managment is enabled in the BIOS. Enable ACPI-Aware OS, Make sure that power managment is set to "user-define"
In the kernel config, enable "Use real mode APM BIOS call to power off" under the apm section.
Which option?
Does the PC support ACPI? If so, use that.
If not, try the kernal thang.
In the BIOS, is there ANYTHING that relates to power-managment, ACPI, or PNP?
yeah theres something that relates to power management I just cant remember... I'll post again the next time I play with my Bios... thnx for the quick reply....
