Anonymity: Using TOR & I2P

Hello,

I've installed I2P & TOR (along with the TORBUTTON for Firefox) on my Linux Mint Helena based PC.

But I have some questions and concerns. By having TOR & I2P installed together on the same machine, can they clash?
Does TOR start up automatically everytime I boot my machine? What about I2P?
What's the maximum browsing speed one can achieve by using any of these - I notice that after installing TORBUTTON in Firefox, browsing feels much slower. Is there anywhere I can set limits?

What settings do I need to do to the apps I want going through TOR or I2P?

Thanks.

I've never heard of this being an issue, and the I2P article on this seems to imply that many people use both (although it doesn't say if they've had problems with it).

If you configure them to, they will. If you configure them not to they won't.

There is limited bandwidth on anonymity networks -- they will always be slow until a very large number of people start using them. See this for an explanation.

Depends on the application.

What can be found in I2P anyway? What kind of data/information? Anything useful?

A Gentle Introduction - I2P - http://www.i2p2.de/how_intro.html

Tor Project: Overview - https://www.torproject.org/about/overview.html

Want Tor to really work? - https://www.torproject.org/download/...tml.en#warning

I suggest using HTTPS Everywhere | Electronic Frontier Foundation - https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere as well as Torbutton on Firefox.
