Alt+<number> - different behavior in different terminals

Hey,

Some applications (e.g. ekg2) use the alt+<number> combination to switch between windows. Unfortunately, this combination seems to work somewhat differently in aterm than in xterm (i.e. doesn't work at all).

Is there any solution to this? I really like aterm and I'd like to stick to it, moreover I'm 100% sure this is.. fixable.

Any ideas?
