Apache will run on AIX. I used to administer Apache at one of my last contracts.

I think probably most of the high-end apps are widely used and will compile on just about any *nix. Samba, BIND, Apache, etc. Maybe even squid...

AIX toolbox for Linux Applications:

http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/aix/pro...nux/index.html

IBM themselves have compiled up many common apps and utils like Apache, GCC, and many others. They're even released in .RPM format at the above address. I admin an AIX machine with MySQL, Apache, PHP, OpenSSL, SSH, etc...

And this site http://www.servers.bull.com/open/index.html has several of the GNU software ported for AIX. The files come as executable zip files *.exe, just make the .exe executable, run it and it will uncompress into a .bff file. Use smitty to intstall the .bff.
