add new column

The below is the result of running the command 'll',

drwxrwxrwx 1 root sys 12554 Apr 4 12:00 file1

There is four space between attribute column (drwxrwxrwx) and no. of link column (1) , is it possible add one more space between these two columns.

hello,
i am not sure - the options would need to be set in the terminal for spacing, but this would add a space to everything. The only good way I can think of is to make a awk (or something similar) scrpit and alias ls to it.
