Question About Streaming media Technology??

Hello all. Question about streaming media technology....

Is there a solution for streaming media that will convert a stream of incomming sequential .jpeg images into a true "streaming" broadcast in Real Media or some other form? It is important that it be able to re-broadcast live without writing/downloading a .rm file first.

Second question, is there a utility available (preferably command line based) that will encode a directory full of sequential .jpg images into a .rm or some other standard file - so the file may be downloaded or distributed later?

Thanks! I've been dealing w/ sequential .jpg's for a while, and am now hoping to make life easier by going to a true "streaming" application.
