1st Mdk 8.2 problem

Hey all

I'm having a little problem compiling software on my new install.
When I run
./configure
I get
configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables

but I can compile my own programs that I write.

This happens as root or user.

Any one ever had this issue?
Is there something I can do other than trying to reinstall gcc?
Any help is appreciated.
Run RH 7.2 with no probs on this box.

Other than this minor(!!!) glitch Mdk seems very nice.

thanks
eric

you should be able to get more info from the config.log file that is generated during the configure. generally, just reinstalling gcc is a breeze anyway... just use rpmdrake and sort it out. i'd not be sure that yuo've actually got gcc installed tho...

incidentally... could you possibly email me your /etc/lilo.conf, i upgraded to 8.2 and the format has changed from my old one... cheers.

Fixed it

Turns out I had made a syntax error setting my C Flags in my .bashrc

Thanks for the help though
As far as lilo goes, I'd love to email it to you but I cant attach in the vB mail program, or paste it.
I may be a jackass but I cant figure it out, any tips

later
eric
