WoW, xlaunch and xrdb

Hello I hope that someone can assist me with a problem I have. I have world of warcraft installed and I want to run the game in a separate xsession. I have followed the instructions given at Gentoo Wiki http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t...b51eae32a46fd7
I should note that I am runnign on pclinuxos, not Gentoo. Wine and WoW work flawlessly but when I give the command " xlaunch wine /home/gbj/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/World of Warcraft/wow.exe" I get the following errors...
Starting /usr/bin/wine on DISPLAY 1
xrdb: Connection refused
xrdb: Can't open display ':1'

Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks

Hi

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to do, are you trying to run it on a different desktop session? like desktop 3 for example?

If thats the case, can you not just right click on the window and send it to that desktop?

If not, then I guess I have misunderstood the question :S

Regards

No it's not a new desktop session but a new xsession. The benefits are that you can play the game without spending memory on resource hungry windowmanagers like gnome or kde I have partially solved the problem without using the xlaunch script, now I have to use two scripts and it is rather ugly Here is a link if you are for example interested in running games with maximum computing power or if you want to run gnome and kde at the same time http://articles.techrepublic.com.com...1-5287485.html
