Will Steam ever work on Linux?

Last I checked, STEAM stopped working on Linux around late 1.6 for CS.

Just wondering if anyone is playing CS:S right now on STEAM via Linux?

I doubt it.

At best, people will find ways to butcher up their config files to get it to work, then Steam will update and screw everything up again. You can bet your ass the "Dedicated Server" will work just fine, though.

I'm tired of people treating Linux like a server packhorse. I don't think games should have Linux servers without Linux clients.

...but then theres Cedega, which, I dont care what anyone says, it works, and I havent had a problem with steam in over 3 months (since the time in early july, or maybe late) and when there was one, it was fixed soon enough to keep my account. And when someone says that they never give out updates during there 3 month account, well theres been approximetly like 5 updates for the past 4 months. Check it here... http://www.transgaming.com/subhilites.php
CS:S is going to have to be supported by transgaming in order to keep sales up. They got me with or without it, but it'll do better for them if they do.
