what exactly is the linux client for NWN?

Hi im curious as to exactly what is the linux client for NWN? Is it an installer that will install the game on linux? Is it some sort of program that constantly runs to make NWN work in linux? Sorry if this is a stupid question but im curious. any replies would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Essentially it is the game engine, the binary executable component. It is not an installer, although an installer is available from http://icculus.org/~ravage

So essentially the client is the game but you need the cd key to prove you paid for the game? Would you need the installer on that site to install it as well? If i used that installer on the site would i need the linux client?

Yes you need the CD key to 'prove' you paid for a copy. There are serveral ways to install the game, One is to download the game content from Bioware, (not for dialup the d/l is 1.2 gig) and then unpack the client tarball. Another is to copy the game content from a windows machine and then unpack the client tarball. Or you can use the installer from ravage, this will install the content from the game cd's and install the linux client in one operation.
