Places like frankscorner.org sometimes post tutorials on how to configure Wine or Winex to play certain games or applications. I suggest keeping your eyes peeled for something similar. Also, update your versions of Wine and WineX whenever possible - in most cases, bugs are fixed and they become more compatible with newer Windows-standard. (IE; WineX 3.3 is rumored to have DirectX 9.0 support enabled)
