Mouse pointer missing in Unreal Tournament

I just installed Unreal Tournament (the original, not the new version) under Linux, and although the game seems to work all right, the mouse pointer in the options menu is invisible! I can click on things, but not see where my pointer is, and that really makes things difficult. Has anyone had this problem before?

Are you using the correct drivers for your card? Is Unreal running under OpenGL? Sounds like a rendering problem

Yeah, I have a Matrox G400, and the drivers are the most current I can get. And in the preferences, it says Unreal is running under SDL-GL, so maybe it's unavoidable.
