mounting iso files without root

Hi

My cd tray is placed rather lame, and i hate the sound of it running around, so i've been creating iso files of all the games i have.

Only one "problem" about that, is that i need root password for mounting them :/

Well, since i know it, it really shouldnt be a problem, but i would like it to be mounted without.

Now, i know you can do it with fstab, but i cant swap around the "discs" with that since i need root to edit that.

My idea is to make fstab mount a "link" to an iso file, and then i change whatever the link points to when i need to swap disk and do mount -a.

Is that possible or more important, do you have any idea how else i can do it?

zozoR,

you still have the option of using the mount command with your non root account. read 'man sudoers' to see how to give that account the rights to run that command.

i hope this helps

If you run 'visudo' as root to edit the sudo config file /etc/sudoers you can allow a user to run any command such as mount without a password as shown here (at bottom):
