microsoft vc redist fail when starting skyrim on steam/wine

I am running Fedora 19, I installed Steam through wine and downloaded Skyrim. When i click play a message pops up saying that its installing microsoft vc redist package, but then an error message immediately pops up saying setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close, thisa is followed by the same error message about skyrimlauncher.exe I don't have much experience with linux so, after reinstalling skyrim/steam/wine and trying to install vc redist throught winetricks, I'm stuck. It's possible I installed steam or wine wrong but I don't have enough experience to know how to check that. I could use any help. Thanks.

Have you tried possible alternative to wine?
Wine compatibility isn't excellent

I hope more users can help you regarding this setup.

I haven't, everything I found pointed me to wine, that is why I was using that, I will start looking for an alternative, do you have any suggestions?

"play on linux" is just a proprietary closed system very much like using "winetricks"

i take it you DO have a legal install of Win7 someplace
grab the missing dll's there
and the vc redist is just a archive ( cab) and a dll listing it is installed

you can also grab the "VC_RED.MSI" from microsoft

the last time i used wine on fedora i needed to hack a bunch of the "windows/wine" ( wine's MS regestry) using the wine version of "regedit"

are you familiar using "regedit.exe" and hacking the Microsoft Windows System Registry
then this will be very familiar --- "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Drive\shell\cmd"

now HOW did you install wine ?
the fedora way ?
Code:
su -
yum install wine
or some other way
