Could you not try it out first and then see if it works or not? I can see that you did not even downloaded the package since, well, there's nothing to install either, it's a pre-compiled package. Download the tar, uncompress and then run:
Distribution: Gentoo 2004.0, Debain 3.0r2, Mandrake 10.0 and Slackware 9.1

or
./lsdldoom /path-to-wad/.wad
You must to have doom.wad, doom2.wad, etc.
That's all.
I wanted to know if anyone had tried it so I would know what the graphics where like.
I see. Ok, well, unless you use high resolutions textures and md2 models, the graphics are not that great. Little improvements on the menus, some nice casting lights effects, a particle engine and mouse look added. It's nice, but it's no match for jDoom:
