Instead of asking links (which you could find using Google, Altavista etc. and some time) consider telling what the problem was during the installation/compilation/etc you were trying to do with the game, and ask if somebody could help you out.
You are going to need to be a lot more detailed than that. Is steam not launching, or is the game not launching? linux-gamers actually has a great how-to up on how to get everything working easily.
I did realize that a few minutes later as I have used those instructions, more or less, but then had to go to work. Regardless, we still need more information...
