installing counter-strike


Dear all, I used this link to install counter-strike 1.6, I followed all steps, but till now, I cant start this game

Instead of asking links (which you could find using Google, Altavista etc. and some time) consider telling what the problem was during the installation/compilation/etc you were trying to do with the game, and ask if somebody could help you out.

I didn't post for links,this is an alternative solution. I posted for the problem itself, I cant lunch the game after the installation

You are going to need to be a lot more detailed than that. Is steam not launching, or is the game not launching? linux-gamers actually has a great how-to up on how to get everything working easily.

You do know that those instructions are for running a server, yes?

I did realize that a few minutes later as I have used those instructions, more or less, but then had to go to work. Regardless, we still need more information...

well...to run a server you need the game anyway...and that's the whole point....to have the game installed(at least for me )
