Grand Prix Legends?

Anyone here running Grand Prix Legends in wine? Several sites including wineHQ suggest this runs fine in vanilla (not cedega) wine. It installs without complaint but when trying to launch the window appears and then vanishes. Konsole returns to the command prompt and no errors are listed. The logs are empty.
This will probably be a zero reply thread but I really don't know where else to post this question.

Hello phneoix

It might be best if we start this conversation here. There is very little information on this topic publicly available (in english anyway) so this thread could help others. If it starts to get out of hand I'm willing to correspond privately.

Here is the progress so far. It's running!! The biggest problem I'm having at the moment is the program won't exit unless I force a crash.

Cedega refused to run this game. So did newer versions of wine. I am running it in wine 20040813. I'm not saying the newer software is impossible, simply that it would not work for me.
My wine defaults to windows 98 and the desktop is set to 640x480. Special settings are;
;;GPL legends
[AppDefaults\\gpl.exe\\x11drv]
"Desktop" = "800x600"
[AppDefaults\\gpl.exe\\dsound]
"HardwareAcceleration" = "Emulation"
The version being tested is GPL 2004 DEMO as this is patched to be up to date in it's downloadable form.
The install location looks like this;
$HOME/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/GPL\ 2004\ DEMO
The command to run it is;
wine "C:\\Program Files\\GPL 2004 DEMO\\gpl.exe"

Most of the information came from here;
http://www.zefix.tv/linux_wine_racing_simulations/FAQ

How far have you gotten with this and what version of GPL are you trying to use?

Hope we can help each other along here

OT: Greatest of past 25 years, Ayrton Senna or Michael Schumacher? I vote Senna
