compile header files need?

so I try to compile mame from source the process stop at very end of it...
I get the error that the X11 header files are needed by some souerce code that points to...
where can I get it???
my distro is mandrake 10.1 comunity
i´ve all cd´s

What distribution (debian, ubuntu, suse, mandriva, etc) are you using? Many of them have the headers to install from your package manager for your current running kernel (uname -r).
