any good terminal user interface game


hello .. i am looking for terminal user interface or minimal games
to play to my laptop .. any good games ?

I'm not much of a gamer except for playing Double Canfield in PySolFC, but a web search for linux terminal games turns up a number of articles that may help you in your quest.

I like some games that use ASCII graphics, i.e. characters to draw a map.
I believe nethack falls into that category, although tiled versions exist.
There's also cataclysm and many more in that vein.
I like brogue, but afaics you cannot run it in a tty session, it needs to open its own terminal emulator from a graphical session.

You could try looking for adventure-style games, such as the original Colossal Cave, or even looking online for a MUD or MOO. Careful though, MUDs and MOOs can be addictive.
