You can run it from Linux with WineX (you'll need the retail version, though) and it runs GREAT!

Cool thread sofar, but...

I thought this was a kinda cool thread sofar. Lotsa ppl with idea's.
Lotsa ppl with the will to explore, unite and create stuff. That's cool.

Unfortunately there's always a few rotten apples who think it necessary to jeoparise the integrity of this board for their own selfish reasons, can't respect other people's property and leech what they can't be arsed to pay for.

Yeah, I'm talking to you, LavaDevil94 and Laptop2250.
You're both in violation of rule 10 of the LQ rules you agreed to adhere to when you signed up: "Posts containing information about cracking, piracy, warez, fraud or any topic that could be damaging to either LinuxQuestions.org or any third party will be immediately removed". More than that I just can't see why you have to use LQ for this bullshit, FCOL. If you can't control your leeching urges, at least have the respect to go to a site where it's considered appropriate content.

Now, edit out the contents of posts #124 and #125 of this thread and do not try this again.

Is there a demo version of WineX3.0 or a free version somebody can send me? (I haven't really researched it yet) but I thought most things on linux were free or were at least, buy this (and support us) or get it free here kinda thing.

can somebody tell me if there is a free WineX3.0 send me a link or the program itself

thx

Woah!! What had happened here?? AFAIK we were just talking about a game (a great game by the way), WarCraft 3 and the means to play it under Linux... WineX is the way to go to play it... I never saw any where any refference to WAREZ or the like... Just... What happened??

I just stated that in order to play that particular game, one shuld need the retail version of WineX, since WineHQ's wine and WineX CVS won't install the game (or at least I was unsuccessful to do so) and then just run the game with the --opengl argument so it runs smoother (and without the annoying pointer bug)... So if I mislead anyone in any sense... I appologise.

And by retail version I meant I registered and paid 60 bucks for one year of WineX support.
