XDM Not Launching

When I try to start xdm via the command line or in the inittab file, It starts for a brief second, all I see is the cursor and background, and then it stops. When I run with -debugmode 4, it reported one main error:
Code:
Warning: Cannot convert string "Helvectica-12" to type XftFont.
... (there are a few more like the ones above)
Display exited with unknown status 2816
xdm error (pid 1888): Unknown session exit code 2816 from process 1891
WaitForSomething
signals blocked
FreeFontPath: FPE "/usr/lib/X11/fonts/misc" refcount is 2, should be 1; fixing.
Manager wait returns pid: 1890 sig 0 core 0 code 0
Zombie server reaped, removing display :0
Nothing left to do, exiting
Any ideas, or even just how i could find out what process 1891 is when xdm is running (afterwards when I run ps the only two PIDs are 1812 (ps), 1900 (bash). Any help is appreciated.

Also, as mentioned in previous posts, I have to type all of the errors, because I cant copy and paste them.

To get select-and-middlemouse-paste, start the gpm service.

Is "Helvectica" your transcription error or is that what's actually in the error log? It's misspelled; it should be "Helvetica".

I've given up on xdm. Can any one look at my other post on fluxbox? That would be great.
