Starting up first LFS install tomorrow!

Well, at least I hope I am!

I've got just a few more scripts to create/modify and the Kernel to install and I'm pretty much done with the base install.

Please cross your collective (and/or virtual) fingers. This is the 2nd time I've gone through the install (after realizing that I'd done some things horribly wrong the first time).

FYI, it's on a dell p4 1.6Ghz with 512 MB RAM. Took me 2 days (about 9 hours total) from booting off of cd to this point. I expect to put in another 2 hours of work or so tomorrow.

Cheers!
Ben

Good luck.........I built LFS 6.1 twice myself........once using Slack 10.2 w/ 2.6x kernel as the host and again using the LFS liveCD..........I put KDE on one setup and XFCE on the other.....both system are rock solid with no hiccups to speak of and no freeze ups...
...it's too bad that windows can't run this good.......!

Seems like everything has been going smoothly as hasn't take you that long. So long as you stick to the docs you should be fine! Good luck with it - let us know how it goes.

Well, with a bit of wrangling, and one nagging question, I'm in!

Started up my LFS machine about 10 minutes ago and I'm happily tooling around on an extremely basic system

Cheers,
Ben

Addition: It's official. My LFS ID is 16563.
