Segmentation fault in 6.62 - stripping debugging symbols

It says "A large number of files will be reported as having their file format not recognized. These warnings can be safely
ignored. These warnings indicate that those files are scripts instead of binaries.
"

But it doesn't say anything about a segmentation fault..... Is this a problem?
Code:
/tools/bin/strip:/usr/lib/perl5/5.12.1/version.pod: File format not recognized
/tools/bin/strip:/usr/lib/libmpfr.la: File format not recognized
/tools/bin/strip:/usr/sbin/grub-reboot: File format not recognized
/tools/bin/strip:/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig: File format not recognized
/tools/bin/strip:/usr/sbin/grub-set-default: File format not recognized
/tools/bin/strip:/usr/sbin/grub-install: File format not recognized
Segmentation fault
forgot to chroot - solved

Thanks for posting the solution. That's the LQ spirit.

A suggestion for the future: If you answer your own question, put the solution in a separate post; this does 2 good things:
  • It generates e-mail to anyone who subscribed to either the thread or the forum.
  • It avoids the creation of oxymoronic 0-reply solved threads.
