PKG Config and non "standard" dirs

Hi

I make a slight deviation of LFS. I install the Xorg modular under
/usr/X11R7.1

All the .pc files are installed there, under lib/pkgconfig

Is there a way to install the .pc files in another directory, such as
/usr/lib/pkgconfig
instead?

Yes, I can work around by symlinking, copying all .pc files, or adding this directory
to the variable for pkg to find, but i prefer to have them all in just one
.pc files, and was wondering whether that was doable even when you use
--prefix=/usr/X11R7.1
