I keep getting a connection refused from news.linuxfromscratch.org but i can ping it and i get replies? can anyone confirm if its just me or a general problem?

ok, im getting really confused now, i have two machines masqueraded behind a firewall/gateway. both can connect to news.btinternet.com yet only one of them can connect to news.linuxfromscratch.org. the other gives me connection refused. i can ping news.linuxfromscratch.org from both machines. any help appreciated
