LFS VMWare image

Hey everyone,

A week or two ago I completed LFS on VMWare (I was too busy working to install to an actual partition), however due to a blunder on my part earlier this morning I installed debian over the top of it and lost all of my work.

Does anyone have a VMWare image they could send me of a (what was) very typical LFS install, with no real changes to the instructions in the book?

I want to start BLFS but the idea of spending hours doing LFS again is rather unpleasing.

Anyone, please? Pretty please, with a cherry on top?

Regards, and thanks to anyone who can help.

Hey IcemanII,

I just finished building my brand new LFS distribution in a VMWare virtual machine. If you want I can upload the image to a ftp server so you can download it.

Regards,

Rafa

Hello there,

I actually already built it again after no one replied. However, I believe it would be a great resource to BLFS users to have a completed by-the-book LFS VMWare image available. If you can upload it to an FTP somewhere.

If you can add it to : http://www.vmware.com/vmtn/appliances/directory/cat/45 all the better!

I hope you do, it really would be a good resource for people like us

I had the same problem today.. I managed to mess up the partition the images were on as well as the backups. If anyone could upload a finished image i'd be much obliged.

I suspect it would take you as long to download the image as it would to rebuild the system.

Also, rebuilding the system is a good excuse to look at ALFS.

Anyway, the vmware image is on my machine accross town, but I have no where to upload it too and it would take a long time (1-2gb at 120kb/s ...)

I could setup an FTP server, I guess...

Cheers,
mhsc

Hello Mr. Guns,

Can you upload the image for me? During my BLFS build, it went all wrong with my lfs partition.
