Laptop keyboard not working ore 9.0 system V

Hello, I installed lfs 9.0 on a ‘rooted’ hp g5 setzer chromebook with Braswell architecture. I used mrchromebox full rom with the write protect screw removed to remove chrome book firmware and I’m using Linux mint usb as the host to save Emmc space. I had a few bumps along the way with the WiFi firmware and especially the UEFI boot which I used that UEFI hint to get working but took a while!! Btw this is my fouth time building lfs but the first on this laptop/chromebook! But the problem for the last month is that for the life of me I can’t get the keyboard to work. I have to use a usb one or work from chroot inside Linux mint where the keyboard works great!! I’ve rebuilt the kernel many, many times trying everything including different kernel options and I can’t figure it out! I even tried boot parameters inside but f grub.cfg I don’t know what I’m missing!! The keyboard is a set 2 at translated keyboard!! Any ideas would be extremely appreciated!! If you need additional information please let me know!! Thanks in advance!! My name is Victor btw!!

Hello! Since this was your 1st post, I was going to say: "Welcome to LQ",
but I (finally) just noticed you've been here 10yr!
(I see [from clicking on username] that you've been enjoying LQ daily!3rd!)

This is all well beyond my OLD Unix (tho graduating to sysdig from strace; UEFI=Huh?),
but I did find one thing (from: mrchromebox intitle:keyboard dead|disabled|"doesn't work" hp g5 setzer chromebook)
https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=194945
It seems to have LOTS of debugging ideas (maybe you could post any results that stick out as problematic/clues in your env)

Not experienced with chroot, I'm a bit confused about: "...chroot inside Linux [host]...".
I'm naive-guessing it's like: a computer 'runs' a rooted Android phone (over USB).
I left chroot out, to get that single web-search result.

Best wishes!!! (stay well "in these times") Your level of expertise would take the rest of my lifetime to gain, and I'd need orders of magnitude more LFSdiligence: Kudos to you, Victor!!!

Why not try the kernel from linux mint.
Since you seem to look for solutions out of the box, I can recommend bedrock.
You could install debian/mint/ubuntu and hijcack it, add your lfsbuild as a stratum and boot it up using the bootloader and kernel from mint. Even keeping all binaries from the other distro available.
