KDE not linking with Openssl

Hey Guys,

As you can tell Iím having trouble getting Konqueror to work with OpenSSL. Specifically, I canít get browse any HTTPS protocol sites. Iíve recompiled kde many times with the flags Ėwith-ssl, Ėwith-ssl-dir=/etc/ssl, Ėwith-ssl-dir=/usr/lib in various combinations. During the .confugure phase of the KDE build it seems to find the OpenSSL Libraries okay, so Iím sort of stumped as to why this doesnít work.

Oh yeah, when I go to the crypto configuration section of Konqueror, to attempt to set the ssl flags there, it says something like ďthis module was not linked with sslĒ so I canít set any of those flags. But like I said, during the .configuration phase of the KDE (kdelibs/kdebase) build it reports finding the OpenSSL libraries, so, well . . . Iím stumped.

Has anyone else had any problems with this?

Thanks for all your help.

edit: Sorry never thought you may not have an rpm based distro. Soory if this does not help.

What rpms of openssl you have? Run this command and post output.
rpm -qa | grep openssl*

Thank you so much for the reply, but, alas, I do not have an rpm disto. However, since it's long Thanksgiving weekend, I hope to give this problem some time and see if I can fix this. If I find an answer I'll post it here.

Thanks again.
