Wink How do I prepare my hard drive to take the plunge

It has been awhile since I did my last LFS build and I'm ready to do it again. I'm starting with my laptop using the live CD. My problem is it currently is running Slackware 10.1 and has four partitions( /, /usr, swap, /home). How do I 'erase' / and /usr so I can use them for LFS? TIA!

BTW: They are ext3 partitions.

Assuming your drive is /dev/hda, and the partitions are numbered in the order you've given:
ie:
/dev/hda1 /
/dev/hda2 /usr
/dev/hda3 swap
/dev/hda4 /home

If you just want to reformat them as ext3:
mke2fs -j /dev/hda1
mke2fs -j /dev/hda2

(make sure they're not mounted!)
