HELP! cannot install texinfo on ubuntu 16.04 live CD

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here could help me with installing texinfo on Ubuntu 16.04 LiveCD. I need to install it in the liveCD because i'm currently working on LFS 7.9 and i need texinfo as the host system requirement package to make makeinfo work.

P.S. and yes I've tried "sudo apt-get update" and "sudo apt-get upgrade" and "sudo apt-get install texinfo".

Thanks!

Reboot and just do the apt-get install texinfo. I've never had any issue just installing the required package in a liveCD.

The VM that I'm running the LiveCD on has 3192MB of memory allotted to the LiveCD, and I'm sorry for not posting the output of the terminal window when I run the apt-get install command, anyways the the output is as follows:

Reading Package List... Done
Building Dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package texinfo is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source.
However the following packages replace it:
texinfo-doc-nonfree install-info info

E: Package 'texinfo' has no installation candidate

Hey,

Thanks for your reply, but i think I just solved the problem by referring to your universal repository post. All I had to do is edit the /etc/apt/sources.list and replace the line "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted" with "deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial main restricted universe multiverse" and then do a "sudo apt-get update" followed by "sudo apt-get install texinfo".
