Hi xerofoify,
I'm also using fedora 17 for compiling LFS 7.1.
The best advise I can give you is:
Do not use GCC-4.7 to compile LFS packages!
I ran into many issues when I compiled programs with this version.
Thus I downgraded gcc and everything worked well.
As you can see I posted this in fedora forums:
http://forums.fedora-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=57664
Sorry but the forum is in french, so I'll try to resume the steps
to downgrade your gcc-4.7 to gcc-4.6.2.
First download gcc-4.6.2-1.fc17.1.x86_64.rpm, cpp-4.6.2-1.fc17.1.x86_64.rpm and libgomp-4.6.2-1.fc17.1.x86_64.rpm from
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/b...buildID=271635
then cd to the place where your rpm files are and use this command:
Code:
sudo yum --nogpgcheck downgrade gcc-4.6.2-1.fc17.1.x86_64.rpm cpp-4.6.2-1.fc17.1.x86_64.rpm libgomp-4.6.2-1.fc17.1.x86_64.rpm
You'll now have gcc-4.6.2, to verify this, type:
Code:
gcc --version
Once you'll have gcc-4.6.2, try to redo the build steps of LFS.

Same °_°. I don't imagine what could result of a -j128 on a monocore or a dualcore >.<
