Funny question of the day

Hey all,

How long do you think it would take to make my own LFS on a Pentium 133 laptop w/ 52 MB of RAM, 1.1 GB hard disk. Is it feasible?

Thanks!

How long is a piece of string? But, yes, it's feasible.

That wouldn't be string cheese would it.. Mmmmmmm !

Depends on how fast you work, how often and if the machine holds up.. But being that slow, it might take a bit longer than usual while compiling.

I did it on a P1 200. 64Mb of RAM and squished it into a 1Gb partition, took about 3 days, in parts... glibc took 4 hours, maybe 5, it was easy.

Cheers,

You just have to be veeeeery patient. Just make sure you have enough Swap space - glibc does need a lot of memory when beeing compiled.
Good luck
