Lightbulb For the curious about MesaLib and s3tc support

By default MesaLib does not come with S3TC enabled by default, but you can use the txc_dxtn external extension library located here:

http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/S3TC/

To add dynamically loaded S3TC support into Mesa for applications that may require it. Due note that you will need to first build and install MesaLib and then build txc_dxtn and then rebuild and reinstall MesaLib a second time in order for it to detect the external library.

While it is illegal to share a compiled binary containing S3TC due to license issues, you are free to use this source pack to build and install it yourself.

And as Pontius Pilate... I wash my hands of this topic. You are now on your own.

Thank you.
