cannot bunzip2

bunzip2: Can't create output file binutils-2.15.94.0.2.2.tar: Permission denied.

I'm trying to unpack the binutils, but that's the error I get and I haven't been able to find anything about it. I'm currently running on the live cd since I somehow (don't ask, because I don't know how) deleted the man pages from my slackware install...

Well, seems like you don't have write permissions for that directory.

Nothing is wrong with it, but I didn't read the man page all the way through enough to know that tar -xjf would unback a bzip2 file, but I will keep that in mind as I continue.
