bzip2 fails to compile at the test stage

Hi

I'm trying to build LFS 9.1 but I'm stuck on chapter 6, building bzip2. I'm using pkgutils as my package manager.

The log file is attached. I'm sure when I run bzip2 in the command line, it runs OK. And zlib compiled fine (aside from mingzip not compiling at "make check" stage which looking at the Archlinux package, they seemed to have solved it by doing another compilation, requiring autoconf).

File Type: log bzip2-1.0.8-bzip2.log (6.0 KB, 5 views)

I should add that I'm building with the latest source files from the list of packages and advisories from 11.1.

I'll try reading the README as the log file suggests.

The README file wasn't as helpful as I thought it would be. I even tried rebuilding with the old tools and I get the same result.

The only other thing that I can think of is rebuilding the tools and see what I get. Maybe even building with the packages that were stated in the book, following the errata. I can always upgrade later.

After going back through 9.1, being more careful this time (using the latest packages and patches), I was able to install bzip2 in chapter 6 without any problems.
